MACEDON. Akanthos. Circa 470-430 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 27 mm, 17.23 g, 5 h). Lion right, attacking a bull collapsing to left with upraised head; in exergue, tunny swimming to left. Rev. AKA-N-ΘIO-N Raised quadripartite square surrounded by inscription; all within shallow incuse square. AMNG III, 2, -. Desneux - (-/-). SNG ANS -. Bright and attractive, a beautiful example. The reverse a bit weak, otherwise, extremely fine.
